The end of the 2006-2007 indoor carpet racing season is fast approaching. It has been a great racing season to say the least, but all great things must come to and end. The Gate is going to end this years season with a bang. What would be the third running of The Grand Finale is going become the first Stock Carpet Invitational.

The Gate is proud to announce the first ever Stock Carpet Invitational, presented by SMC/JACO. This race will bring together the season’s best drivers of the stock, 19 turn, and modified classes to compete head to head on the same level. In addition to crowning the Invitational champions, it will expose next years up and coming talent in the stock Touring Car and 1/12th Scale classes.

The format is simple. There will be two groups of drivers. The Invitational Group and the Open Group. The Invitational Group will consist of any driver who had an A-Main appearance in Stock, 19 Turn, or Modified, at one of the six major carpet events of the ‘06-‘07 season (IIC, Halloween Classic, U.S. Indoor Champs, Novak-USTC, Snowbirds. ‘07 ROAR Carpet Nationals). The Open Group will consist of all types of racers, from club racers to those who just missed the big show.

The event will be three days, covering practice, rocket-round qualifying, and the main events (Triple A-mains, Invitational Group). Handout motors will be issued in the Invitational Group, while the Open Group will bring their own ROAR legal stock motor(s). Practice will be run by qualifying heats to ensure an equal amount of track time to all the racers. Practice will be followed by four rounds of IFMAR style qualifying. The race will conclude with the running of the main events.

Attached is a list of drivers who have qualified for the Invitational Group pending the ROAR Nationals results. The entry form is also attached.

Last years Finale was a who's who of carpet pilots from across the US.  Yes it’s going to be competitive, Yes your going to have fun, and Yes you should come to this one!

Entries are non-transferable and non-refundable after April 1, 2007. Entry limit is 250.  ROAR rules apply regarding, bodies, tech, motors and batteries.  Foam tires only. Pit tables and chairs will be provided for racers only.  Personal transponders are mandatory.    

Format:            Rocket-round style, 4 rounds.  Triple A-Mains (Invitational Class only)                       
Stock Touring, Stock 1/12^th Scale Classes:  Bring your own motor (ROAR rules apply, no purple end-bell handouts)
Invitational Classes:  Handout motors (Limited to 2 per class)  

 Trophies:        A-mains 1^st through 10^th and TQ’s all classes, all other Main Winners.
